just a mini makeup post...

okay, i just thought i'd try something new and show you a little bit of the makeup i wear (sometimes!)

first, we have nail varnish! here are a few of my favourites..
L-R:
Avon's nailwear pro in "Sequined"
George @ Asda's own in "Cloudless Sky"
ChitChat! in Crimson Rose
Nailene's "Miracle Maker" - Helps nail growth!
Barry M's Nail Paint in "Black"
Barry M's Nail Paint in "Tangerine"
I chose not to put up pictures of my nails, because they're horribly flaky and the skin around the nail is pasty and peeling :-(

Next.. Lips!  here's a few i like to indulge with:
Avon's Plumping Lipstick in "Really Rosy"
and here's how it looks on my lips!
i know, my skin is awful.. i have so many freckles & moles, and can't find  a decent foundation!
the one above is a darker red than this next one.. this one i haven't worn out to a party/meal or anything, because i don't have clothes that tone it down :-(  so, here it is:
Wet'n'Wild in "Blood Red" - it's a lot brighter in real life!
and now for the bright bit.. my lips!

okay, even here it looks darkish.. it's so bright though! (ps, i was in a hurry, so i didn't exactly care about getting it 100% correct, hence wobbly edges!)

and my favourite lipsticks/gloss/etc are as follows!
top to bottom:
Lush's "Snow Fairy" lip tint&balm, it's delicious!
Wet'n'Wild Brilliant Lipstick in "Blood Red"
Avon Plumping Lipstick in "Really Rosy"
Vaseline Rosy Lips lip balm (excellent choice!)
and finally... the little green stick! (more below)
this is something i ordered from here and it's honestly the best thing for my lips i have ever bought! it's from Amber's store (oakmoss) and it's a Sweet Peppermint Lip Balm, with raw beeswax, organic coconut oil, organic almond oil, organic herbs, and essential oils. i wish you could have smell-o-vision or something.. this stuff is incredible. you MUST buy one! they're only $1.95! it makes my lips tingle too!  you won't regret it if you do buy one! plus, there are loads of other handmade products that amber sells; soaps, candles, scrubs, and perfume oil! i cannot stress how beautiful her products are, and the quality and effect of them is just.. well it leaves me speechless! they're outstanding, and nothing more can be said! check out amber's shop here, and her blog, here.

I'm officially engaged!

ryan proposed to me about half an hour ago, and of course i said yes!

we may only be 18, but we're not going to just up off and set up house somewhere so quickly, we need time and money for that!  for now, yes it is a big commitment, but we've both been through so much these past 10 months, and we're stronger for getting through it all. Ryan is the person i feel most comfortable around, and i am more than happy to spend the rest of my life with him.  *swoon*

here's the ring!:
ps; sorry for the horrible squinty bendy fingers... ew!

summerwear? for me anyway!

winter warmers.

Sunday 12 February 2012

1. I started my blog because:
I saw this lovely girl on blogspot, and i knew straight away i wanted something similar, but not the exact same.

2. One thing I love seeing on other blogs are:
Outfits, great ways to bag a bargain, D.I.Y's, crafts, make-up tutorials & recommendations!

3. Something I love about blogging:
Reading everyone's blogs and feeling like i fit in, and like i'm a part of something :-)

4. A favorite blog post of mine:
Oh gosh, i don't know. They're nothing special!

5. Something my friends in real life know about me that I've never before mentioned on my blog
I have such a foul mouth a lot of the time, and my scottish accent makes it seem even more rude... not to mention i look more like a boy dressing as a girl 90% of the time!

6. My new favorite blogs to read are:
this one, this one, and this one

7. Some things I tend to avoid doing on my blog are:
Swearing, being a little too enthusiatic in my posts.. (that can look creepy sometimes,. right?) and i do my best to give correct credit where i can, but it's not often i can trace the source.

What about you?
Repost in comments and tell me about you!

D.I.Y Stencil Pillow!

You will need;
- a pencil
- a blank pillow cover
- some cardboard (to lean on)
- a stencil (optional, to keep things neat)
- a permanent marker (my sharpie worked!)

After choosing your quote, put cardboard inside the cushion cover to keep the marker from bleeding through to the other side and to keep the fabric stretched out smooth.
Use a pencil to stencil your quote onto the pillow cover, that way if you mess up the spacing you can erase the pencil lines and redo them! You can’t fix mistakes when you’re using the fabric marker though, so don’t skip the pencil step! (note; it may not work on every fabric)
Once you’ve penciled everything in, go at it with your fabric marker! I found it easiest to use the stencil for the outline of each letter, and then remove the stencil to fill the letters in.
The Sharpie fabric marker packaging didn’t say anything about heat setting the ink, but I ironed mine out before i washed it. Seemed to work!

Wednesday 8 February 2012

so, last night i did my nails using Rimmel's "Lasting Finish" polish in Chalk White, and i think it looks good!
despite my horrible short nails and bitten skin... sorry!

Monday 6 February 2012

I've been shopping!

this lovely sweater cost me £3.99 from a charity shop! what a steal :3 i got a shirt too, which i'm not wearing since it needs repaired slightly, and that was £1!  eff yeah, brilliant day!

Sunday 5 February 2012

D.I.Y fabric roses from an old tshirt in easy steps!

this is such a cute thing to do, and there's loads of things to do with them too!

Here's the instructions;

  1. Cut a strip of t-shirt fabric, stitch down the middle, gather, fold in half lengthwise, and roll it up. (see below)

2. Blob some fabric glue (i just use PVA!) on the back and stick it to a circle of fabric.

Attach it to something, wear it out! I'm going to make loads, attach them to clothes, shoes, headbands, the lot!

words to live by!

bath & bed!

i've been up since 7:30am this morning, and it's now 20:10pm, i am bloody knackered! i'm currently all cosied up in the bath to keep warm, then it's into my pjs and snuggles with ryan, watch some tv for a bit, then off to dreamland! ahh, life's good.

snow, you're a bit late!

it's been snowing since 1pm here!
this was the view from my bedroom window at around 3:30.

tattoo happy?

okay, so i recently had my lovely tattoo (which you can see below) touched up, and i asked about apprenticeships and whatnot that happen at the studio, the woman (Tam, who is lovely!) who touched it up for me, said all i have to do is have a reasonable sized portfolio with my own drawings, in mixed medias. simple, right? well, no! it took me an hour to copy this flash piece below, from eye to paper! i'm rubbish when it comes to things like that, honestly. maybe i should leave it to the professionals!
Flash piece i found & copied with my own twist!

my tattoo! "keep my where the light is" from John Mayer's "Gravity"

time for my first proper post..

when i find the time, i'm definitely going to make some of these!
