my pay day in pictures!

it's that time of the month again!  and of course, pay day!  (lol, sorry!)

so, here's what i bought today!

Mens Batman Tshirt - Primark, £6

Bow Top - Charity shop - £3
PS: The woman behind the counter straight-faced admitted to me she didn't scan it through since it was only £3, how good is that!  bad if she gets caught though...

Skirt-bottomed Dungarees (always wanted some!) - £4.99

Flip Flops for my holiday in July! - Primark - £1.50

Pin-up Style Dress - Charity Shop - £6.99 (bit much, but i love it!)

aaaand, here's the two humongous bags we had to carry everything in...

All in all, it's been a great day despite the weather, Ryan got stuff too, but wouldn't let me photograph him.. Loser!

I'm so happy with everything i bought today, though the Skirt bottomed Dungarees are actually a size 10, not 12.. so i'm gonna have to lose a bit of weight! (after easter, of course...)

Other things i bought:

  • Ryan and I lunch from Costa Coffee [picture got corrupted! :(]
  • Lady things (ew.. i know!)
  • The new Resident Evil game for Ryan, which is money well spent so far, he hasn't come off it yet!
  • Chewing Gum
  • New memory card for my camera since these were the last photos i managed to fit onto it.. (i hate deleting stuff)
  • I can't think of anything else!
  • but i do like making lists
  • list
  • list
  • list
  • okay sorry.

How has everyone's day been? Anything exciting happening? xxxx

Make-up Review x To Buy or Not To Buy...

Okay, so.

i decided to rummage through my very selective makeup box, and show you which i highly recommend, and what not to bother with. Easier than i thought!

First off, we have my all-time favourite pieces of makeup. These are all highly recommended! (excuse the bobbly mattress, i need to use Mrs Thrifty's tip to remove bobbles!
top to bottom;
Model's Own nail varnish in "Buff Pink"
Chit Chat! in "Glittering Rose"
No. 17 Eyeshadows in "DeathRock"
Rimmel London Eyebrow Pencil (w/ brush) in "Hazel"
Avon's Colourtrend Kajal Stick Eyeliner in "Blackest Black"

All mentioned above are my all-time favourites! minus a few which i can't find...

Next, the ones to avoid...

L-R:
Claire's Glitter Black nail varnish
George @ Asda Quick Dry nail varnish in Blue
Avon Perfectwear Foundation in Light

Claire's Glitter Black i found to be very gloopy and stringy within the first few uses.. no matter how much refrigerating or nail varnish drops i put it in, nothing changed!

George @ Asda's varnish separated very, very easily, and i cannot get it to mix at all. Any ideas?! i love it, and don't want to throw it out!

Avon's Perfectwear Foundation was useless to me. it's like applying milk to your face, it didn't blend at all, and it became flaky and dried out within an hour of application. Bleh!

Next up:  Lipsticks!  i have a select range of these too.. but these are the best!
L-R on hand = L-R as shown
Avon's Everlasting Lipstick in "Rosy"
Avon's Colourtrent Lipstick in "Vino Disco"
Lush Lip Tint in Snow Fairy
Wet 'n' Wild Lipstick in Very Cherry

My #1 of these four has to be Lush's Lip Tint, such beautiful colour and it's so yummy! though i shouldn't really be eating it.. So addictive though!
Then we have the two avon lipsticks in joint 2nd, they're both brill, but not as tasty or colourful.. long lasting though!
Finally, in a well-deserved 3rd, a cheap one i bought once i'd run out of my blood red lipstick (which they no longer sold after that!) Wet 'n' Wild in Very Cherry. It's very bright indeed! very hard to wipe it all off, it seems to leave a lasting mark on the lips/around the lips..  not too impressed but i love the colour too much.

Aaand finally! my not-so-secret weapon to removing make-up, baby wipes!
i have sensitive skin, so these are amazing for my skin, and they're so gentle too!

What're some of your favourite make-up products? xox

Happy blogging! xox

Models Own nail varnish review!

I finally decided to buy some lovely pastel polishes from Models Own, and i swear, they are AMAZING. Beautiful one-coaters, beautiful colours too! wide range, and i got a free eyeliner worth £8 since it was my first order! Fab!

here are my awful falsies with beautiful colours! (i know, they need tided up and filed a bit!)
Pictured; Models Own varnishes in "Top Turquoise" and "Lemon Meringue"
NOT PICTURED; "Buff Pink"

but honestly though, best under £15.00 (inc. p+p!) i've ever spent! definitely worth it!

buy yours here, and see if you get a free eyeliner too! (w/ first orders only)

Sunday 18 March 2012

i've seen some things recently...

and i've decided to start saving up extra odds and rake through the recycling bins.. to make these!

1) holders! (mine will be made from tubes, toilet roll tubes, kitchen roll tubes, and i have no idea what else!)

2) moleskine covers!

3) leaf bunting!

4) a jewelry organizer! (i so badly need one...)

5) a D.I.Y dreamcatcher! (always wanted one, but don't want to spend £££!)

is there anything you're looking into making? there's a whole wide internet out there!
find something you like, and interpret your own style into it!

Happy crafting xox

day 8 of my new job!

I haven't updated in a while! anyway, I'm on a temporary 4 week contract with Warm Front Ltd, a private loft & cavity wall insulation company, and I'm in the admin department :-) it's going really good! today has been seriously busy... my cousin in law has had her first child! welcome to the world, amber-jayne! my little brother had a party for his 6th birthday (which I am extremely stuffed from) and I've been on my feet all day at work, filing, phoning, taking calls, passing messages, making tea & coffee, everything! sooo busy... I'm tired as hell! so, it's bedtime for me, goodnight! xxx
